As a note to all the youngins who pick an airline based on upgrade time. It'll take around 2 years to get the 1000 hours SIC and things can change dramatically at that airline in that time. PSA is a prime example.

ExpressJet will fall to about 6 years within the next year. Then it will continue to drop from there on out.

Good thing lxjt has only 16 months of flying left.

How do you figure? Don't you need to hire people behind you so the upgrade can continue. What about reduction of flying. Especially on the lxjt side. Isn't ual bringing a lot of flying back in house?

From those that are there in class now, the junior person awarded a Sept upgrade on the 145 was a June new hire at C5. So bascially 3-4 months if you are hired with 1000 previous 121 time. They are saying this will continue through 2017 since they are looking to hire another 350ish pilots to staff their growth.

The upgrade times of today may Not be there tomorrow. Pick a regional pretending that you will be stuck there for a decade. Read their contract. Aerocrewsolutions has a really nice comparison charts. At least go through them.

You guys only fly around 500hrs a year in 121 ? That's like 40/mo.

2 to 3 months sometimes to get trained. And a few months on reserve could lead to about 500 hours first year.
