Is the self proclaimed "best" regional airline in the world hiring foreign pilots over U.S. citizens?
From what I've gathered...yes.
I've heard the greatest regional in the world has sponsored Canadian pilots while turning down U.S. citizens to work as pilots.
Supposedly there are rumors on another pilot forum that the greatest regional in the world is looking at hiring Aussie pilots instead of qualified yanks.
Does anyone know how true this is?
What are your two cents?

That's rich, coming from you, the one who wants to expat. Your post history seems pretty special.

True story, there are 5 people at skywest as we speak that i personally know working with a VISA. Two more are in the process of getting hired.
They came to the US to train, and did not want to return home, they applied, and they got the job for as long as theyre visa is good for.
Also great lakes is also taking people with a VISA.
They're good people, and good pilots though.

If you can't get hired at SkyWest, you probably shouldn't be flying an airplane, expat or not.
(And I mean no disrespect to the SkyWest Hiring Department by this: just appreciating someone maintaining some sort of standard)

So what would be the attitude of staff and hirers at any regional airline, toward a Green Card lottery winner, taking a job?
Keeping in mind that he/she will be a US citizen in 5 years.
