Well, it's HR that hires you, and those people value education, because it shows you can fall in line, and be a good employee. Whether or not you are the best at something doesn't matter in the flying world, the ideal employee is one that doesn't rock the boat, and flies the damn plane all the time.

Jobs where raw talent is required, hire based on raw talent. Silicon valley has high school kids that make $250K a month because they are the very best talents at coding.

College is 10% education, 80% who you meet, and the rest... finding out who you are...

Single pilot isn't what most people think, there will always be two pilots on board the aircraft, one will just be on rest while the other is at the controls.

Yes, monkey, I know.

Wrong. The future cockpit will be a Pilot and a Dog.

The Pilot is there to make sure everything is ok... the dog is there to bite the pilot if he/she touches anything.

Who's gonna keep an eye on the old fart studying the overhead panel in the left seat on red eyes?

There is no overhead panel to monitor on a single pilot aircraft. The pilot only verifies data integrity between the flight computer, and the ground control station. ATC becomes a ground function only, center is eliminated. In the event of a systems failure, both pilots are required at the controls.

Oh there's gonna be an overhead panel to monitor. I promise you that.

Having a college degree says nothing about your intelligent. Thermometers have degrees , and you know what they do with them.
