Is high cholesterol a disqualifying condition at Eagle if you are otherwise young and perfectly healthy?

I don't really know however they do draw blood and I think it may be one thing they do check.

Don't base people out of the country and you wont have that problem.

Is an eye exam part of the "astronaut physical" at Eagle?

This "astronaut physical" that seems to be getting everyones panties in a wad isn't anything more than a full physical that you might get, say, when your wife wants a $250k life insurance policy. It's just a physical with blood work. They do the tyical look at you stuff that your AME should be doing. Look up the nose, in the ears, vision test, hearing test, blood pressure,, EKG, take some blood, pee in the cup, turn your head and caugh. I had high cholesterol and high tryglicerides and still got hired, just got a letter saying I might want to get those things checked out.

I'm sure you all have had physicals like these before. If you played sports in highschool almost every school district out there requires you to get a physical and they really do nothing more in this physical than they would for that. Also, since you are a pilot, you have gone through just about all of this before with the FAA pysical. The only difference with this physical and the FAA physical is they draw blood and, like I said before, if you have a minor discrepancy they only advise you to get it checked out.

Quit worrying about nothing. If you are freaked out, call your family doc and ask them to do a physical. You will get the same one as Eagle gives (minus maybe the EKG). They aren't looking for anything beyond FAA Class 1 medical requirements. You have to have one to interview and they are just confirming you didn't make one with photoshop. You hear people say "It's an all day thing". Mine took 4 hours but the majority of that time was waiting around doing nothing.

If you really want a hardcore physical go visit your local MEPS, Eagle medical is a breeze.
