Ask yourself this question... If this was Mesa, or GoJet, or PSA that did this, would the Eagle guys be defending it as an unforeseen emergency?

I am glad that they landed it safely, but a good and safe pilot would have never been in that situation in the first place. As soon as it started looking like it might be bad, a good pilot would have gotten out of that situation and landed somewhere safe.

It appears you've always been lucky enough to have a way out every time. Here's hoping you never meet your Kobayashi Maru, I don't know if your ego will let you get through it.

Sometimes the unexpected happens. I think you're wrong. We've all been reading TAF's for years. Non-frontal tstorms are unpredictable.

Well if I were DaOldMan I'd have yelled at my dispatcher for a second alternate and 1,000 CA ADD.

We're you guys awake in ground school when discussing CRM/TEM? If so you probably analyzed situations like this yourself. Once the threat was identified (unforcasted weather) did they do the best thing? I think not. Especially if the considered the amount of gas they had on board. Was any CRM done outside of the flight deck? They train to identify and break the error chain as soon as possible. In this case they put themselves in an emergency fuel situation and had to land at a NON APPROVED airport. Fine if you're on fire, but should never be used like this.

It actually scares me that you think this could never happen to you. I believe there is a "hazardous attitude" that was written after guys like you. I just hope you're too old to still be flying and have other's lives in your hands.

For those not familiar with the event...

1. WX forecast did not required an Alternate.
2. Captain called dispatch and demanded an Alternate (SFG)
3. In-route a second alternate was issued (FSM)
4. Due to Weather in XNA crew diverted to FSM
5. Due to Windshear in FSM crew diverted to Podunk, OK - LOW FUEL status.
