Can anybody tell me;
Is Gojet still hiring direct entry captains?
are they considered captain qualified FOs?
How long to hold RDU as a captain?
I realize Gojet may not be the best airline but I am over PSA. I'm done commuting to reserve and I'm sick of flying that piece of crap 200.

To start with, why do you think Gojet will be here in 6 months? Their contracts with United are not being renewed. Gojet guys say that the company told them that they have already been renewed, that was a lie to get the pilots to sign the contact. Gojet and Skywest's contracts to fly the Crj-700s are all ending. Skywest has placed some with American and is working to place the others, if they can't then they will shrink slightly. If Gojet can't place theirs they will shut down. The signs are that they are planning to shutdown. Their new DO knows nothing about business or running an airline, he is new to commercial aviation as well as being a pilot. Like he told me, he is merely doing what he is told to do. Gojet won't do a long term contract to get a DO with any kind of airline experience.
Skywest, Air Wisconsin and Expressjet are all good and treat people well. Everyone is hiring, don't go to the bottom.

Can someone show me how to tie the correct knot for me to make a noose? I realize that death is not a great solution and will probably hurt my career permanently but I'm at PSA. I'm bored being a junior captain on reserve and I'm sick of flying that CRJ-200 where you have to push those 4 bleed valve buttons once a flight and commuting is so passé. By the way, if I get hired by Delta in a few months can you assure me that they will open a crew base in RDU for me because they should know that I already commuted for many months and I didn't like it?
Ok, I'm from the North East and sarcasm is a way of life. If you love your family you won't go to Gojet. If you have kids I would consider going to Gojet a form of neglect. If you have self respect you won't go to Gojet. In this environment the only ones who would go to gojet are people who self destructive chances and subconsiously want to sabotage their careers.

You guys are looking at this all wrong, in the first time in airline history there's true competition for good qualified fo's all's this does is force carriers to be competitive, so for the sake of better pay let them continue to call

I don't care how bad PSA is, I don't care how bad your commute is or how bad the 200 is (it is not bad), there is no reason to go to Gojet and put your career in jeopardy.

Why ouch? I'm no Gojet fan but I can also say words that aren't even remotely true. I don't know about the future, but I do know this guy is speaking out of his rear. First, he doesn't know what contracts Gojet has or hasn't signed. Gojet is a private company and purposely keep the details of their agreements extremely close to the chest. What Skywest is doing has no bearing on what a different company is doing. Oh, and by the way, the DO has ZERO to do with negotiating airline contracts. Just goes to show that GJNM is an idiot. The top managers at TSH haven't changed and they are the ones that bid on contracts.

I just don't see your basis for calling someone an idiot. You have not shown his facts to be wrong, and you misread what was said about the DO. Are you arguing that Gojet is not at the bottom? If that is what you are saying I think a lot of people would disagree.

I hope you're not using Wifi to determined if United is keeping those airplanes or not. I've non-rev on a few Delta's DC-9 that had Wifi on them. Those didn't last long.

It is well known that United is not renewing contracts on the CRJ-700. They don't like the plane. Are they adding wifi to those planes, no. They are leaving. It is well known that Gojet is having to pay triple time to its pilots to cover trips. The DO leaving, usually a clear sign that it is time to run from that company. He didn't say the DO negotiated any contract, just that the choice of a DO does not indicate a long term plan. TSH does not need Gojet, its a liability at this point. I can see where they might want to close it down. His facts seem to be right on and his speculation is what it claims to be, speculation.
