And CASS interest seems to indicate a commuter, so commuting to SJU, for less pay, is better than CFI'ing locally?

If you have your ATP already, the contract is 6 months. I flew there a few years ago as a captain. It's a niche company. If you need multi pic time, this would be the place to go. If you want to fly 121, there is no reason to go to Cape Air. It's just not worth it to sign a contract that will take you past your 1500 hr mark.

With the information you provided it doesn't appear to make sense - you're unwilling to become a CFI, and make perhaps $25,000, but are willing to sign a two contract paying you $10/hr for at least a year???

Aerial survey is also a great way to rack up time quick . . . one can knock off 1000 hours in one season no sweat and that's counting in bad weather spells . . . however the full season doesn't normally start 'til Sep-Oct so he may have to find other ways to log some time 'til then.

Try Aerial Surveying. SkyLens is a great place to work. Really enjoyed my time there. You could build your hours in a year's worth of time. Respectable pay. Plus an Aztec to get into if they need you.
You talk to the boss once a month and just do the job. I really enjoyed it!
