I would guess that a large number of those 78 are right out of a school cadet program. The shortage is referring to already experienced pilots being hard to come by. I could be wrong on, but just a guess.

Does Endeavor have a lot of turn over/movement right now, with people leaving to other places? Or getting called up to the majors?
Example: SKYW I heard gets about 60 a month in new hires on average. But also has about the same number or maybe a bit more, also leaving every month to majors/LCC et al. And can't keep up too well with attrition.
Is it the same situation at Endeavor?

About 10 or so go to other majors a month.
We are getting between 50 and 60 new hires a month
That's why upgrade is around 2 yrs right now and will drop below 2 years on the next vacancy.
Between 85 and 100 upgrades on the last 3 vacancies
