Default 170/175 FMS for Dummies

Are there one? 'Cause I is one!

I started watching this, but dang if doesn't double as a cure for insomniacs!

zzzzzzzzzz

To sum up...if the JKW isn't showing the HTP, you should ensure that the WWD is not switched to the MGL or the BBX, or else the QYD will reset and the PLT will be in default while the JKW will show RDF instead of the desired HTP.
Holy God. It's as clear as mud.

I feel good just knowing that yellow lettering means caution and red means emergency.

They'll show you what you need to know in class. It's really not as bad as it looks...you just need a little bit of instruction. Teaching yourself usually doesn't go well.

It won't make sense until you're playing with it in a software sim, a real sim, or the real airplane.

And even in the real airplane, in your first 100-200 hours you'll still be learning what all that thing is thinking and doing and what crazy stuff is buried inside it.

For instance, here's a little gem no one teaches in class (and a lot of EJet pilots don't know/ever encounter): that little sucker will start flying you inbound in a hold if it hits your EFC, with zero pilot input. So many crazy little gotchas in that box!

I agree. Not trying to teach myself anything, just become acquainted before class.

It's definitely doesn't come across as particularly intuitive, like an iPhone.

Hang on there, Doc. You should know that I personally put the "ack" in "hack". No one plays golf with more balls than me. No. One.

It will with time. As soon as an instructor explains the logic behind the box and you have a little bit of time to play with it everything makes perfect sense. I wouldn't lose any sleep over it!

FF, you sound just like my Sex Ed teacher back in the day. She was right, too.

Maybe find the function how many people are not showing up for class? Still can't find that function on the fms.

Funny. I wouldn't even bother trying to find that on an fms, but it sure sounds like you have.

You wouldn't sling gear for SKW by any chance, would you?
