Personally I think best case scenario you'd be where you are now afterwards. If you don't have too much time in there I'd look at Some other options, pay shouldn't be too much of a issue since many places have bonuses and probably faster upgrades.

If you're going to leave leave soon and get a number somewhere else before everyone starts bailing.

If you read between the lines, to me it doesn't look good. They say that they are using this as a way to restructure the CPA's with mainline. A bk judge cannot force another company to pay them more than what they have already agreed to.

They also want to shed old, expensive airframes to be replaced with newer,
single fleet E170's. Once again, they are trying to sell this to the work group that this will be a good thing, as they will be exchanging their 145's and Q's for E170's. Once again, a bk judge does not force mainline carriers to adjust their fleet for another companies bankruptcy.

I can see this hurting future recruiting, and newer pilots that just went there bailing out for other carriers since they have a type, and can get a bonus with it since first year pay rates have come up everywhere now. So the pay loss won't be anything at all. I can see the pay rates staying, bonuses and QoL items being gutted from the contract. I don't see any kind of major partner buying RAH, nor giving any kind of flow through to attract new hires. They have already ****ed off Delta Air Lines. I can also see all 3 majors not liking this as well, as it shows instability for their flying as well.

Good luck to everyone over there.

I'm told you're not a real airline pilot until you go through a couple of bankruptcies. You can run over to Gojet now as captains and in 8 months to a year you will get the second bankruptcy on your resume.

The airlines are going to Skywest because they are long term players, treat their people nicely, and will be around. They are giving Skywest new contracts without much haggling since they need some flying they can rely on. The Mesas are doing it cheaper but at more risk to the carriers. More Skywest contracts to be announced soon. Don't expect to be right seat for a long time if you are there or go there.
Just raised their first year pay by 22% today because the flying is coming and 100 new hires a month is not enough. Looking for more initial instructors too.

Delta does have a say - they are a secured creditor. The secured creditors committee has a lot more say than does the bankruptcy judge.

Delta can take their ball and go home. They don't have to pay RAH a penny more than they currently do.

Come to the 9E forum, we will tell you how bankruptcy court actually works.

First of all, my heart goes out to all those employees of RJET whom are affected. Stay strong, try your best not to let the worry overwhelm you. If you are in training, finish, get the ATP/type, and see what the line holds for you. Some pilots will bail, which means upward movement for those that remain. If you don't have much seniority, a lateral move may make sense for you. But I would not jump right away; rather, take your time and see what happens. The pay will continue, the flying will continue.

Many saw this coming months ago, and it took this long to happen, so nothing terrible is going to happen overnight. In the end, I hope for every employee's sake that the BK ends up making RAH a better place for all of you. If it ends up not being a good place, and you are forced to move on to continue to support your families, then do so.

For all those who are posting the "I told you so" stuff, or talking smack and seeming flippant about their comments.... Re-read what you are about to post before you hit the SUBMIT button. If it is something you would want to read, while thinking about your own and your family's welfare, then by all means, post away. If, however, if would not encourage you while you are worried about your loved ones, perhaps you'd be better off posting in TOTD instead.

Best of luck to all of you RAH folks. It's going to be a bit rocky, moving forward, but do your best to move forward with a positive outlook. Life is not always easy, but your personal attitude can make all the difference in your day-to-day dealings. Keep your collective chins up.

Bedford was talking about cutting 100 aircraft from the fleet. Even if 500 pilots quit it still a plus in the staffing column. I don't think the contract is as safe as you think it is.

I would agree, but we are not talking about just a reduction viability, morale or stability. It would flat out collapse the company, if not at the very least a walk out of the pilot group. I would give it a few weeks for the company to be completely done if they renege on the pilot's contract.

If DL, AA, UA think their issues with republic are bad now, what do they think it will be like if Republic closes shop or has a strike? How long would it take them to get that capacity shifted to other carriers and would it be worth it vs just paying republic a higher rate?

I think that the Delta/Republic relationship is about to end in the same fashion as a bitter divorce. Delta is a major reason that Republic is in it's current situation.

Don't get me wrong, there is puh-lenty of blame to be laid at Bedford's feet (the most significant of which was his decision to go to war with his pilot group), but I don't think that we'll be seeing DL paint on RAH aircraft for much longer.

I am sorry to hear about what is unfolding at Republic. You guys held out for a awesome contract and after years of abuse you get this. Fuc*ing BS. I don’t know what the future holds for any of us regional guys. Slowly but surly the tower is falling.

For any one that wants out now and might be interested in MESA Airlines, PM me your name and number so I can get your resume and I will have it on the Chief Pilots desk this week and I will get you an interview. We have bases in IAD, DFW, PHX, IAH. The company is flying CRJ 900s, 700s and the E175. Upgrade time is short. No it’s not the best company but if you show up on time they leave you alone. You can call me and I will answer any of your questions. It might be the right choice for you, it might not be.
