There will be no furloughs or even the threat of a furlough.

Don't 145s make up over a third of their fleet? Not to mention the q400s. How can you park that many airplanes and not have to furlough?

In the Blame Game, you have to blame somebody or something else. Blame somebody, and they can sue. Ergo...

While taking the blame yourself could be a Christian thing to do, i wouldn't hold your breath here.

You can also think of this as another stick to get Congress and the FAA to roll back the 1,500 hour requirement.

Don't hold your breath for the Press Release that says: '... I messed up and didn't unload all those baby Brasilian jets fast enough. Not my fault the frickin' Canadians couldn't build the new shiny big jet fast enough and I could start Frontier III and forget this puddle-jumping nonsense. Not my fault I didn't negotiate the right capacity purchase agreement clauses with the Big 3....'

It's easier to blame Washington. It's popular, we love our guy when he/she's home, but that air in DC just messes everyone up.

Fault? ain't got no stinkin' fault around here.

Why would they furlough, when they said their problem is they can't find enough pilots??

It depends. Skywest bought Expressjet/ASA and they are still operated as a separate airline with a separate contract.

Just like the Pinnacle BK this has been in the works for years.

Buy airlines, merge them, fold them, put aircraft orders for business you don't have, improve pay, increase training costs.

Everything the last several years was done with this specifically in mind. They had discussions with Seabury Group back in 2012. This is what Seabury does.

They will probably look for some tweaks in the CPA's and the Pilot contract to allow them greater ability to shut Shuttle down and bring all flying under one certificate. Among other cost saving measures from other carious contracts.

AA had billions on hand in their last bankruptcy. Cash on hand isn't a metric that necessarily matters.

Another question: who picks up the Bombardier CS300 orders and options for cheap?????

crazy how many guys just fart statements out. RAH was out of these CS for a while, no money down, planes won't be cheaper due to that but in view of the challenges Bombardier has to sell them and the company's financial trouble (7,000 lay offs) those CS will surely come cheaper

According to this article from the 25th, the Q400s and 145s make up 23% of the entire fleet. Since the company is already short of pilots, a furlough might not happen, especially since not all of these planes are even flying. Hard to say.

Just a speculation from my part, but I'm guessing Delta since they publicly made these statements and then dropped the lawsuit with RAH.

At the right price, it’s quite a competitive airplane, particularly given the engine technology,” Delta Chief Executive Officer Richard Anderson
