If you don't have much seniority, a lateral move may make sense for you. But I would not jump right away; rather, take your time and see what happens. The pay will continue, the flying will continue.

Many saw this coming months ago, and it took this long to happen, so nothing terrible is going to happen overnight. In the end, I hope for every employee's sake that the BK ends up making RAH a better place for all of you. If it ends up not being a good place, and you are forced to move on to continue to support your families, then do so.

For all those who are posting the "I told you so" stuff, or talking smack and seeming flippant about their comments.... Re-read what you are about to post before you hit the SUBMIT button. If it is something you would want to read, while thinking about your own and your family's welfare, then by all means, post away. If, however, if would not encourage you while you are worried about your loved ones, perhaps you'd be better off posting in TOTD instead.

Best of luck to all of you RAH folks. It's going to be a bit rocky, moving forward, but do your best to move forward with a positive outlook. Life is not always easy, but your personal attitude can make all the difference in your day-to-day dealings. Keep your collective chins up.
Great post.

Even worse. That means they will stagnate horribly and more than likely see downgrades. Sorry to all Republic pilots...no sympathy for those who went there in the past few months despite warnings to the contrary. Get out now if you can.

But your forgetting that Republic is not at 100% staffing levels. the way they talk, many of those planes are just sitting.

This did not just happen out of the blue. They would not be hiring like crazy if they didn't need them. And they stopped training for the 145 back in December I believe.

Sometimes I wonder how some people make it to work everyday without getting lost.

The only thing surprising about this, is people being surprised by it!
If you are at RAH counting on getting bought up by a mainline, I got some penny stocks to sell you on.

My prediction, FO pay will not change much. They do not want to lose pilots and will still need to attract pilots in the future. However, the pilots high on the longevity scale will get pay cuts to offset this. They can't easily go anywhere else to even come close to even 10 year pay. If they could then they already would have left. The rest will be renegotiating debt and possibly contracts on the routes they do for the majors. If your a new hire don't be too worried. Even if they want to lower your pay it will take some time. They cannot just force a lower pay scale down your throats. The process takes time before they can do that. They would have to justify it to a judge who would then have to throw out your contract. If that happens, do what American Airlines pilots did and drive their stock to nothing. Hopefully that would force your CEO out.

Many of us predicted this would happen. Most likely this is surgical and they are looking to dump some flying and airplanes. Pilots are ok for now. But I'll repeat what I said last time. There is no future for Republic as they stand today. There is no future for any contract airline. 6 years from today more major pilots will have retired than there are contract pilots to replace them. Republic and SkyWest will fall incredibly hard. Wholly owned's will last a little longer with their b scale schemes.
