"Now, for labor, the sun, moon and the stars have finally aligned to remove regionals which they consider a cancer.”

How quickly they forget where they started flying...

Actually, I think you could argue the exact opposite as a large motivator. Especially, the more Jr. new hires that have been moving up lately.

Many of us here have been saying this for at least a couple of years. Looks like it's getting harder and harder to deny. The tsunami still hasn't hit regional beach and it will be quick once the wave gets close.

A lot of regional executives will be swept away screaming and flailing their arms about never to be seen again. DAL and United seem to be moving their resources toward more mainline while at AA, the intoxicating love affair with RJ continues. Perhaps soon AA will have no choice to follow the pack as they always seem to end up doing ?

Well, everywhere if there is an option to drive or take a train for the same amount of time as it takes to fly, people don’t fly.

I think this is correct, although at this point I don't think it will hurt us.

Last I checked flying in and out of towns is a business, if the profit is there the planes will be too.

This could be a total non event... bring RJ's to mainline and pay a respectable wage or keep the regionals around and pay those pilots more either way works. This can all be fixed very easily it's just how much do the majors want to spend?....
