Regardless of if you need or want it, but thank you for your service.

Congress would be barbequed and would likely be the coup-de-grace for regional carriers using low-time pilots.

Besides, all such a roll back would do would be to provide a temporary relief to the industry as the real problem ISN'T the higher experience minimums, it's the combination of excessive cost to obtain a crap job that pays like garbage and provides even worse treatment. People aren't interested in that anymore, when they can make much better $ in other industries and get treated 1000% better while doing it. It's going to get to the point in 6 or 7 years where even the legacies will have a pilot shortage as all the present regional pilots will not be accepted and the regionals will be just about dead at that point.

That's what ultimately happens when you turn a once respected and difficult to obtain profession into nothing more then that of "just another job". They've patted themselves on the back for the ability to decimate this profession and the chickens are coming home to roost.
I'm genuinely curious, do you think the majors will really see a shortage, more so in 6 to 7 years? the last time the majors saw a real shortage was in the 60's and that's because they wasn't real pilots around besides the military.

The reason I think congress will repeal it is because aviation travel is pretty much the new railroad industry. Cities grow and shrink due to the aviation business these days; and these small towns wants their piece of the pie.

At least Breezy can explain his side logically. And without the name calling. Which seems to be a problem for you. Perhaps you should take a time out from the internets for a while and calm down, then come back and explain your viewpoint in a calm, reasonable manner. I assure you more people will be apt to at least consider your POV as compared to what you are doing currently.

Yes, you are an idiot of the highest magnitude.

No, you don't get to put words into my mouth and claim this is the argument I make.

The misunderstanding is your's, not mine.

What I said was that "the want of a long, healthy life is a desire, not a need."

Want a long, healthy life?

Earn it, just like everyone else.

The right to earn it (ie. "pursuit of") is guaranteed by the Constitution, nothing else.

Just because you were in the military and "fought for it" doesn't mean you understand it. In point of fact, you clearly don't as I have amply demonstrated. Moreover, you don't even understand simple economics, which means you cannot possibly understand how regulation or deregulation affects economics, which means you cannot possibly understand the opinions you have. You just spew them out because someone somewhere told you that "unfettered capitalism" is wrong and blah blah blah.

You are a lemming, conditioned to spew what your betters ("people who have PhD's agree with me") have told you to say.

I, for one, find it rather embarrassing that a fellow "professional" would resort to name calling on a public forum. Bet you wouldn't have the stones to do that in person. It's lacks class.

I think you are confused on this issue. Congress mandated that airline pilots have ATP certificates, but it was the FAA and not Congress who chose 1500 hour rule and all that is associated with it.

Congress doesn't have to do anything for the FAA to modify the 1500 hour rule. The FAA could make a rule that ATPs can be issued at 500 hours if they want.

LOL

Geez, Breezy, you sure do have a lot of sock puppets. Insecure, much? Funny how they all point to your non-existent "logic".

Meanwhile, we all know I'm only the latest in a long line of folks who have called you out for your idiocies.

And playing on your service to generate sympathy is weak indeed. Real warriors never do that. Liberals? I know of many who say they have served but never did. Just more sock puppetry on your part? Who cares.

"What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this forum is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul."

I think that sums you up quite nicely

Typical liberal comment. You think you're the only one who lost friends (or family, in my case) over there? Be my guest.

Btw, it obvious YOU "believed it to be a pursuit of cheap oil"...regurgitating what you've been told to say, once again.

Do you ever have a original thought of your own? Don't bother answering that.
