Regional to Major agreements
I am not sure how to write a title for this, but what I am asking about is the contracts regionals have with airlines to do their flying. I am sure their is a correct term for this, but I have no clue.
So what I wonder is how big of a factor it this? Especially in todays world of airlines. I know some places have long standing contracts with their airlines, yet some of those regionals are, how do we say... are not the best. Yet I see some places that are desirable from a pilots standpoint yet their contract with the majors are running out. I rarely hear much about this when people are searching for an airline while reading the forum. I am just wondering if this is an important factor to consider or not?
Thanks

Air Wisconsin's contract is ending, but they are a good company and pilots there should have a bright future. Republic is having some serious financial issues and I am not sure how bright their future is. I would gamble on Air Wisconsin, but I would not touch Republic with a 10 foot pole. There is simply no future with the company.

Although there is some truth to this, it is important to look at the overall health of an airline. Seniority is incredibly important, and having to move from one closing airline to another really sucks. Ask all of the Comair, Colgan, etc... guys.

Rjet stock is low. Financials are above the table and people know that rjet isn't set for a stable future as far as numbers go.
AWAC is a private conpany, they could be losing money they could be making it. Nobody knows.
