Default UAL Vacation Pass -own metal issues

I'm a Mesa CA. I guess mainline United FAs using vacation passes have priority over Mesa FAs even on Mesa aircraft. I greatly disagree with this policy. Does anyone here that operates UAX flights know how to get your company's employees on ahead of the UAL vacation pass holders? Does anyone have access to the UAL guidelines for using vacation passes? Are there situations that vacation passes are not allowed to be used? I guess I'm looking for the most effective way to undermine this policy without having to revert to the stubborn toddler approach and refuse to move the airplane until my co-workers are on board. So, please share your success stories in overcoming this policy...or convince me it's not a fight I can win so I can slowly learn to tolerate it.

Work at mainline and you'll have better results.

Yep. They all have my number. I went to college, have lots of flight time and a bunch of cool stuff on my resume.

I have a brief existential crisis everyday after I wake up and remember I work for Mesa. But, I do work for Mesa, and I'm trying to look out for the people I work with.

Hey, vacation passes suck, but the best thing you can do and should be encouraged to do (IMO) is keep them honest. Report the gate agent and pass rider if they illegally change from regular pass to vacation pass within x minutes prior to departure or if the gate allows the person to remove the vacation pass after they realize they didn't need to burn a vacation pass.
Screen shots. Their game, their rules, keep them to it.

I can't remember if "x" minutes is 30 prior or not. I haven't had to reference the language due to shenanigans for 2 years.

They're not allowed to use a vacation pass to bump their priority if it's within 1 hour of a flight. In other words, they can't list as a SA1P and then see they're behind 3 Mesa employees and bump themselves to SA0V if it's within an hour of departure time.

Yup....had it happen to me once with a United FA. Several Mesa employees listed (me included) after he did and bumped him down 3 spots, so he re-listed with a Vacation Pass and then went to the gate agent to have the SA1P listing removed. I had already taken a screenshot of the list with his name on it twice along with the date & time. Then I took another shot once the gate agent had removed his SA1P listing.

Thank you. That is what I was looking for. I guess that means the person traveling will have to take the screenshots and I can make sure any misuse is corrected. How many vacation passes do they get each year?

Check listings and screenshot 1hr prior. List inside of 1hr and check in, thats about all you can do.

As a PIC, I would NEVER allow someone onboard over one of our own, vacation pass or not. They can freaking grieve it.

Well then I really hope you're not PIC of anything. Are you Mesa or PSA?
