It depends on how many pass riders they have, up to a limit, but I think it's 12 a year. And I think they expire after 3 years.
Also, vacation passes don't automatically bump you. They are the same priority as you in your own metal, so it goes by seniority.
Personally, I rather have them keep the better benefits at mainline. That way you can enjoy them at your career airline instead of being undermined by the contract employees.
You will lose that battle. These travel benefits are all controlled by the CPA that the regional signed off on. For example, UAL was denying xjt the use of the Fa JS because UAL policy didn't allow it. Many captains insisted to the point that management told us to stop because UAL was threatening the entire CPA over it.

You may not be telling anyone else how to run their aircraft, but by pulling a stunt like denying boarding to someone in defiance of the priority process, you're putting us all at risk. Flight benefits are a privilege not a right. Absent some safety or security issue, as PIC you have ZERO authority to violate the CPA and establish your own priority system.

According to the boarding priority document on the UAL website, SA0V and SA0X are the same boarding priority. When 2 people with the same boarding priority are trying to get on the same flight, seniority wins.

Hey, I respect your post. Great point. I have denied boarding to someone a total of zero times. I've never been in this situation. I'm not even sure I would know if this happened. It's more of a point that no one sticks up for regional crewmembers, ALPA doesn't, our company doesn't, mainline for sure doesn't, so we are left to stand up for ourselves. Maybe then our partners really would notice.
