I would think that any of us "regional guys" would immediately stop caring about the regional world the second we escaped it. Just human nature. Why should a mainline guy care about the regionals unless they affected him directly? It's evident that they don't as they think they should have higher priority on our own metal.

You really don't have any idea about the mainline pilots. I've still got an RJUA sticker on my old flight bag. I thought we should fly the RJ's back when and still think that today. I still think we should have everything in house but I am only one vote. UA was the last to the RJ party. The pilots held out for a very long time but when the other major carriers had them the tide was turned. Just like when we lost our A plan pension. Once the first domino fell the rest of us were not far behind. I don't sit around and bemoan everything that was lost or taken from us. I can play the hand that was dealt. I choose to be kind and considerate to may co-workers, fellow non-revs and jumpseaters. Life is about choices and how you deal with the good and the bad.

One of the big items we could achieve by having everything is house is ridding us of the mentality that you guys seem to bring to the party. Of course I suspect you would find something else to carry the chip if you were a mainline pilot. I just hope the screening process can help filter out guys like you and the others that are in favor of creating their own boarding priority.

It isn't all roses at the mainline. At UA we have had our share of turmoil. I don't suspect you were worried about our futures when things were bleak were you? Yet, you think we should worry about yours.

You entered the regional industry knowing what was happening and yet you refer to me as a "dumbaxx"? That is pretty funny I must say. Just remember all your troubles are someone else's creation. You have no culpability in your life, future. ,<tic>

Do you have apps in with the major carriers? When/ if you were ever hired I would like to take your pulse on these issues at the 5 year mark. I suspect your view would change 180 degrees, although we may never have to worry about you and getting hired elsewhere though.

For all that are curious, the vacation passes have been around for many years, and they had nothing to do with pilots or United. Continental gave them out, and the new United decided to keep them.

You missed the point where I said I worked at mainline for a long time in non flying positions. I have been around plenty of arrogant jerks at mainline like you that thought flying a 30 seat turboprop was beneath them and used to listen to the way they talked about regionals all the time. So color me unimpressed. You missed the point, once you allowed ANY of your flying to be outsourced, I don't care if its a Cessna 172, you set yourself up for more and more outsourcing. By the time you put your neat little sticker on your bag about RJs the game was over.

Funny how you guys get all wee wee'd up when your own tactics are used against you. Bet you were the first one in line during the summer of love in 2000 when UAL pilots were playing their games.

Quite frankly I could care less what you do, except when you come up with some stupid idea like getting priority over me on my own metal, when you wrote the rules of that game.

You entered the regional industry knowing what was happening and yet you refer to me as a "dumbaxx"? That is pretty funny I must say. Just remember all your troubles are someone else's creation. You have no culpability in your life, future. ,<tic>
I'll use your own words here: I don't sit around and bemoan everything that was lost or taken from me. I can play the hand that was dealt.

The regional hand is what was dealt to many of us and we are just doing our best to swim along in the cesspool created by mainline pilots.

I told you I worked at mainline for many years, and I have many recs to go back to the mainline carrier where I worked, so thanks for your concern. I could really care less what you think, as you appear to be one of those arrogant mainline jerks that would be hell to spend a four day with.

And I have a strong feeling you will never know if that is true or not.........

Like was already posted the vacation passes are a holdover from CO. They were not created to take away anything from you. If you are not willing to listen or read facts then I guess we are finished debating the issue.

Good luck, you are definitely going to need it going forward. You talk about arrogance? As I mentioned I treat jumpseaters and non-revs as well as I possibly can. Want to throw a bag in the cockpit I will always find a place somewhere. Hungry/Thirsty? we will find you food and drinks. I am not going to let someone that thinks they know it all and is using revisionist history that they were not present for change how I treat people.

Now compare that to your, "My metal, my rules", screw the boarding priority, etc etc. Who is the arrogant one in this debate again?

To answer you summer of 2000 question. No, I did not participate nor do I condone what happened. Of course that was 15 years ago so I am not sure how it is relevant to the topic we are discussing. Perhaps you want to talk about the Capital merger also?

Probably not because from what I have seen of UAL since working for a UAX carrier leaves me very unimpressed with their management or their operation. Its better than a regional but there are many places out there to work other than UAL that are far better places to work.

Sure hope you find one of those other places. For everyone's sake at UA, we certainly have enough malcontents. No need adding another one.

I'm not going to delay a flight for this. I'm not sure, however, what part of "grieve it" you simply can't understand. Your opinion, and everyone else's means nothing to me. Just like my opinion means nothing to you. If I get in trouble, that's on me. Until then, freaking grieve it!

Also, this has never happened on my plane and the likely hood of it happening seems fairly slim.
