$40/hr?

The extra few dollars being proposed at Republic is a trick. Increased health care costs will easily eat into that hourly dollar figure.
There's another big tradeoff too. Currently Republic doesn't have pay protection for cancelled flights. That means you could be looking at taking 25% off any dollar figure during winter months when cancellations run high. Their new contract proposes implementing pay protection like all other airlines have, but at a terrible price. They want you to agree to junior manning. With Republic losing the amount of pilots they are and being forced to shrink, you will have the least amount of days off of any carrier as the company attempts to cope with the collapse of the airline. It's all smoke and mirrors.
You should be made aware though, regardless of whether they can pass this contract or not pass this contract, the airline is heading to bankruptcy reorganization. There simply isn't enough pilots to fly the airplanes and airplanes just cannot sit idle with notes to be paid. Republic's fate will eventually be all other regional carriers fate in the future, but Republic will be among the first with wholly owned carriers being last.
There simply isn't enough pilots in the training pipeline to absorb what's about to start happening at the majors. It's a mathematical certainty.
One good thing about being a Republic pilot though is their pilots will be scooped up by the majors first, while wholly owned regional airline pilots will be locked in the flow through scheme so as to not be able to destroy the major airline passenger feed system. If you are a major airline, who's regional airline do you destroy to get pilots? Your own wholly owned regional carrier or someone who is unaligned like Republic ?

Or are you one of those with the blinders on?
Thought so.

Wholly Owned folks enjoy the best of both worlds. They can apply to Delta and United but still know they have a job at American.
Changing cockpits
Fort Worth resident Nathan Sidwell, 33, walked into American’s training center on his first day not knowing what kind of plane he was going to fly or what city he would be based in.
Sidwell, who flew C-130s for the Marine Corps at Naval Air Station Fort Worth, met an American Airlines pilot at a kid’s birthday party a few years ago who suggested he think about flying for the airline.
“He said, ‘We’re going through bankruptcy right now, but in a couple of years when you get out, give us a call,’” Sidwell said.
When his time in the Marines was up, he started the application process with American.
Within a few minutes of the start of class for pilot hires, Sidwell and about a dozen other pilots learned that they would be based at either New York LaGuardia or Miami and would fly Boeing 737s or Airbus narrow-body aircraft.
Sidwell was one of two “off-the-street” hires to start at American this month. The others in the class were pilots who had flown for American’s regional subsidiaries Envoy Air and Piedmont Airlines.
“Half of a new-hire class on average is going to be comprised of the flow-through pilots, and those guys and girls have been flying for the regional carriers for anywhere from 15 to 25 years,” said Jim Thomas, managing director of flight training and standards. “They have an enormous amount of experience.”
Thomas said the company is averaging about 50 new pilots per month, with plans to hire close to 500 this year. And with hundreds of pilots at American reaching mandatory retirement age, the company is constantly training pilots on new aircraft types.
“Every retirement, for example, requires about six to seven additional training spots,” Thomas

In no way do I want to sound like the ***hole, but you can't truly think about going to republic. There is a reason they are headed for bankruptcy. Their contract and even if the new one gets approved at 40 an hour is still behind many other regionals out there. Money can not be your selling point for any company. Take a second think about your options do some more research. Find a company that has things such as cancellation pay, deadhead pay, flow. Basically any company that has an overall fair contract.(please note they all suck to an extent but some are better than others) Living in base is another thing to truly take into account.

APC forums,
Is there any regional out there with a newhire package exceeding the potential Republic $40/hr? Most of the other regional airlines I have researched have a long (3-4 year) upgrade or newhire pay in the low $20's. I'd be intrested in any of the bonuses. I have a class and want to make the best choice.
Thanks,
Rich

You realize there are guys out there right now, that have been in the right seat of an RJ for 8 years? BTW, $40 an hour is still woefully underpaid even for first year. You must be a recent Riddle graduate.

Potential?
No, there is no such thing at RAH. The nc, company, ALD, will never allow an agreement to pass. We had a close chance, but the 357 said no vote. Gonna be NEVER new cba here. Maybe I'll see if i can get bb to set my guarantee at 150 a month. That'd be nice, wouldn't it?

As to the op, the lbfo is dead and gone. No use debating it's contents.

I know they've done this in the past, but I thought that the pool of people stupid enough to be lead down the primrose path by MB plants like this clown had dried up.
