Here is a crazy idea. How about instead of posting the umpteenth "What regional should I choose?" thread. How about you actually do some research on your own by going to different airline websites, read the already established threads for every airline, talk to some recruiters, go to a job far? Instead of being lazy and asking complete anonymous internet strangers.

About 99.9% of responses you'll get in a thread like this are either from
A) Trolls
or B) Fanboy pilots who are just promoting the airline where they work, to further their interests not yours.

Give him a break. He was responding to Rawhide, who tends to be Lord of the Douche sometimes. XX is correct, and it won't be long before prior 121 time will get you an upgrade faster at PDT...and you won't rot on reserve for it either.

  • I'm from NJ and my first choice would be living around the area to be near family
  • I'm in my late twenties so being able to advance my career faster would be helpful
  • QOL of course, I want to be appreciated and work with people who enjoy their job, I'm ready to leave the depressville that I work at currently
Of course I'm not trying to ignite an argument about who has the best job, I just need help looking in the right direction for an airline that seems to be doing well and has a steady future. Thanks for your help.
If base is most important to you, pick a regional with a EWR base. ExpressJet is one, but the upgrade is very long and you wrote that you'd like to have some career advancement. CommutAir might not be a bad option: $30/hr starting pay, EWR base, Dash 8s, relatively quick upgrade (I think it's around 2 years but I'm sure someone who works there can get you more accurate info).

Agreed, especially with the "Airline Profiles" link at the top of the page, or you could just click here...
