Just looking at this thread alone gives one an indication as to why pilots are so underpaid, and that will never change. Everyone has their own opinion justifying it...along with their own agenda. No unity at all.

Step one is the recognition and acceptance that ALPA does not represent regional airline pilots interests. At the regional level, ALPA is simply the enforcement arm of the companies wishes. We cannot proceed to step two without first dealing with this.

At the mainline level as well.

Tell me I don't deserve to be paid what I'm worth when your family is on my plane and the **** hits the fan. The garbage man makes more than I do, with better benefits so....yeah...I do deserve more.

And yes, I am the cause of the problem. So are you, and every other pilot who ever enters this industry. Our arms have always been tied by the RLA and nothing will change unless we quit. Self interest prevails.

Gravity Payments is based in Seattle, not Silicon Valley, and is still going strong, not falling apart. Probably bad intel from your sources.

Now if we go by your rules, than you deserve minimum wage. You aren't worth anything other than minimum wage as evidenced by your acceptance of paultry wages. That's what you deserve per your philosophy.

You are the cause of the entire problem.
A couple of things to note on this statement:

1. You work for PSA. Enough said. Clearly you have accepted working for a bottom feeding company with paltry wages.

2. This isn't soviet Russia. We don't all deserve the same pay, regardless of occupation. Yes I deserve more then that garbage collector. A lot more. And I have no problem fighting hard for what I deserve, rather then rolling over at the first sign of distress (again, PSA.)

We are all paid exactly what we are worth by the very fact we show up to work and accept the compensation offered. Not worth a penny more. If you were to all quit today, doubt you would land a job that pays more right off the bat, unless you are a FO at Mesa.

You really need to stop bashing PSA! Being a ENVOY pilot it makes you look STUPID!!! Are you really that stupid??? You voted in the same garbage as PSA and Piedmont. Too funny!

Yawwwnnnn. You'll never get it, nor do I expect you to. Do me a favor. When you get to AA, try convincing the 30 other envoy pilots in your class that PSA didn't do anything wrong and report back how well that goes. I'm serious, I would love to hear how that convo goes.
