(some nut from a few pages back posted that 3 year crap) Either they don't work here and are just parroting what they "heard", are completely disconnected from the truth of reserve time on the FO side, and/or are simply badmouthing the place in attempt to hurt the company. My opinon? Please just shut up and go away. I've been here 1 year and 8 months. Been holding a line for the past 2 months. Simple math says a new hire FO will be on reserve for about 1 year and 6 months.

CA reserve time is basically endless, for now at least. However the subject here is clearly not CA side reserve. It's FO reserve.

SO, reserve time? Not endless and not 3+ years. Longer than some other regionals? Yes. Better place to be than some other regionals? Yes. My seniority number has changed by over 40 numbers over the past 2 months, so obviously something is happening. Judging by the fact that all of those that left were captains and senior FO's, I'd call that "something" good. Also, hiring has picked up pretty good. Are some of you going to continue to be disrespectful towards our new hires and keep implying/calling them stupid, ignorant, and the like? Get a d@mn life and find something less immature to do like help get the door closed on time.

Broken promises? Big deal. ALL the airlines break promises. Standard operating procedure. Stop whining and get over it.

To SilentB25, welcome, welcome, welcome! I and I'm sure many others are happy you chose Expressjet. I'm also sure you made a very good decision -for yourself-!

Yes, $300 per week until you pass IOE, then you get back-pay for the portion of the trips you flew on IOE and per diem; this paycheck does not come until the month after you pass IOE on the 15th.

What hotel do they have you at? It depends which one, but if you are at the Drury, they feed you breakfast, dinner, and free booze! Generally, most hotels have a fridge and microwave.

Welcome aboard!

Cheerlead much?

Getting off reserve as an FO is just the first step. Taking 12-18 months to take that first baby step is ridiculous considering EVERY other regional airline offers better prospects for career advancement. I can't believe I sat around here for over 40 months waiting to get off First Officer reserve. I wasn't a smart man in my twenties.

How about we wait and celebrate when SkyWest stops selling off our airframes and reverses that trend by giving us some growth. Until then, every pilot who signs up is in for a LOONNGGG road to seeing the left seat at a regional.

Lets see.
For the month of September the most junior hard-line holders on the ERJ side are:

EWR- Feb 2014
DFW- Dec 2013
IAH- Sept 2013
ORD- Apr 2013
CLE- Sep 2013

Not quite "3+ years on reserve". Nonetheless, reserve times are extremely long compared to other regionals.

you need to omit the DFW and wait till an actual new hire goes there to hold a line.....basically you're saying that DFW is a senior base...which its not cause theres a bunch of junior guys going there when they can. Lines are also reducing for the slow down months and winter so those numbers will be skewed even more. Really hard to say when you WILL get a line BUT, the time is coming down, just need to get warm bodies through the door....so go get the 1k and get 1 person to boost your seniority and get yo 1 more number closer to upgrade

Don't think it will be fast because they give you some days off, go prepared to stay in training for 7 to 8 weeks. You will have opportunities to go home but I don't recommend, unless you have something urgent, because you will have low seniority and that can be a pain in the a@$% depending on what city you will commute from. If you need more info just PM me.
On the ERJ side you get positive space to and from training from your home of record. Not sure if the ASA side has that or not but back in 13 a lot of my class would go home on the weekends without issue.

Ha! What?????? Paaallllllllllllleeeeeeaaaazzzzzeeeeeee don't give anyone this advice. They won't be your friend anymore when they are there 4 years from now still on reserve. The next 5 years in this industry looks much better than the last decade, but don't try and sell that one - IMO .
