can remember making an RJ do a little bounce coming into DC on my second day of IOE...first time i had flown the airplane and she was light, and had a nice lil' wind. was...interesting. didn't think you could make thirty some thousand odd pounds of aluminum behave like a 152.
Have fun, and welcome to the line.

Just wait until you've got some insane crosswinds and are looking at the runway through the captain's direct vision window... I had that on my last leg to fly while on IOE into MSP from CLE. Not to mention an icy runway with nonstellar braking action reported! The ERJ sure does handle those crosswind landings nicely though.
Ah... gotta love this job!
Good luck with the rest of IOE!! Trust me, it only gets easier.

So... the second day of IOE included landing with winds 270 @ 22 G 28 on rwy 34 (which wasnt as bad as I thought it would be) and shutting down an IDG on the way back. My IP asked me if I knew of any portion of my paperwork where he could include "bad luck."

Yeah- fun stuff. Surprisingly, it feels easier than flying a Seminole after a while.
