ASA 'Phone-Interview' Question
This is for a friend who can't register on here:
Does anyone out there know what is on the phone-interview for ASA ???
I've heard that there are 25 questions, but what do they ask exactly?
When they called, they said left a message asking to "go over the resume"...is it just a question about that or more likely the actual phone interview
Thanks!

They are asking questions like ever done drugs, been convicted, DUIs, how much TT, how much instrument time, etc. Nothing to study for. Calling you to set up an interview date as well if you are polite and your attitude is good.

Like others already said,
They ask you about current employment, total time, total glass time, last 6 months, last aircraft flown? etc..
They also ask about any stage checks/checkride failures?
Violations or incidents on record?
Driving record? Felonies?
Ever been fired from a job?,
Failed to complete an airline training progam?
Who have you interviewed with?
When are you available?
FCC? /US passport?
That's about it. Nothing stressfull.
The guy that called me was pretty cool.
I was told to expect a call that same day, but no call came in.
Maybe it's something I said?

Phone Interview
I have talked to two people who have told me the expect a phone call the same day and they never called. When they called me the guy was about to give me an interview date and then he paused and said he wanted to send me a "formal application" and have me send it back before he gave me a date to interview. Why was mine different?

I wouldnt worry. Y'all will get a call if you meet the mins and are not a convicted felon. One thing about ASA....they say you will hear back in a week really means 4 weeks and that you will hear back in a day really means a week. Just be patient.

Hey all, I'm the 'friend' from the first post (just now got my account validated). I e-mailed my resume Wed. evening and got a call about 9am Thurs., unfortunately I was up in the air and didn't get it until two hours later.
I've called back a number of times over the last two days, but no one has answered once. I left a message, and I guess I'll keep trying next week.
Anybody know the special time to try calling back?

Monday morning is generally a good time. However actually catching someone at their desk at the G/O carries about the same odds as winning at roulette. I'd leave a voicemail, then try periodically through the day to see if you can actually connect with someone.
