I put CL-65. Since it's the same type. Jetblue didn't care one bit when they looked at my logbook.

Now, I do differentiate between the 320 and 321. But it's personal preference, I suppose.

I separate. Do you want to be looked at as over thorough in an interview, or under. Maybe it won't matter but maybe it will. Your choice.

Maybe they think that you're anal about silly stuff that doesn't matter...Who knows?

With that said, I log separately, but I wouldn't think twice if someone lumped it all together. It's not like 757 vs 767.

CL65 is the type, not the make model.
You are exactly right. I have a DHC-8 type rating, but flew the Q400 exclusively. I logged the time as DH8D, which is the model designator for the Q400. It might technically be a Dash 8, but I certainly wouldn't claim experience or proficiency in a -100, -200, or -300.

I would use the official Type Designator, both ICAO and the FAA use the same codes I believe:

No need to separate since its one FAA type, unless you know for sure you want to fly overseas.

If you find out later that you need a breakdown you can always sort by tail number.

The American Airlines App wants the times broken out between the 3 variants. It would be beneficial to identify them
separately for future applications.
