Definitely BS. Recruiting will promise you any base you want to get you to show up to class.

Crew Planning, a completely different department, will tell you the bases actually available once you are in class.

PIT is the base most likely for new hires, but you can generally transfer within a few months.

As mentioned by previous poster and covered in another topic- Envoy's 170s are going to DFW.

I'm confused about the 401(k) comment. You should always sign up for that. You want to retire don't you? You can always roll it over if you change employers. Also, there is a (modest) company match. You are leaving money on the table if you don't have a 401(k) setup.

Sorry if I missed a joke or something. I just wanted to get that out there.

Anyone thinking of going to Republic. I've spent a year there as my first 121 operator. STAY AWAY from that place!!

Their contract is imo the worst in the industry. There is zero hope for a new one. Management will abuse you using all means as long as it's "legal". You will have one of the longest upgrade time in the industry.

There are plenty of viable option out there. Plenty.

Silver is available in FLL which is about 20 miles from MIA. It's not a jet but probably a faster upgrade than RAH.

I was just pointing that out because unfortunately SJS is alive and well among the ranks of those looking to join the regionals.
