based on the current trends, and all the changes that are happening it is a matter of time before regionals merge and become wholly owned. there may be a few that are servicing some smaller airports, but with out being a "connection" carrier when it all comes out in the wash. the big 6 is now the big 3, regionals are next!

Prorated monthly. Not too much to stomach if you land a major job with only 2 months to go.

You mean that you do not have to have the type rating to interview. You then get a conditional offer based on paying for your own type rating within 6 months.

Unless something changed that I am not aware of?

It'll probably be chock full of the same E-Jets and CRJs as now, but without the "Connection" or "Express" or "Eagle" on the sides. Remember, the original DC-9-10 was about the same size and capabilities as a CRJ-900. We've all effectively been doing mainline flying under a different banner for years, hopefully it'll all be absorbed back into mainline with the same planes. I don't mind flying 50-seat jets, I just mind doing it for food-stamp wages when we should all be on the mainline seniority list and contract, with larger and higher-paying metal only a bid away.

I guess I tend to forget that the mainline aircraft I remember flying as a kid was 737-200/300. But still, they can fit an Airbus into some of those E gates. The F is just a cluster now especially at the end of the terminal which is just a jet bridge fiasco for the E jets

Sign on and Retention Bonuses:
Envoy - $10,000 if you are coming from the “right” university
Republic – Sign on $7,500 - $12,000
Endeavor’s $80k over 4 years retention bonuses
Others?

Referral Bonuses

Mesa’s “Tuition Assistance”

Compass now pays for hotels during training and dropped both ME and TT Mins

I believe all regionals now provide single occupancy during training.

I believe all regionals dropped their training contracts.

ATP/CTP Courses are offered at regionals for those that haven’t taken the ATP written.

Southwest dropped their 737 Type Rating Retirement

Mins at all the majors have dropped.

Majors now hire FO’s with no prior 121 PIC.

What else am I missing?

Until PAY, BENEFITS, and QOL improves for pilots, young people will still avoid the time and financial commitments required for training. But at least there are signs that things are moving in the right direction.
Just to recap:
Regional Airlines offering bonuses to means it's sooo bad at the perspective airline what they need to give people money to work
there, and somehow that's a step in the right direction?

Endeavor- downgrades terrible moral - people leaving left and right 20k a year bonus?!? more like finally paying you your lost wages the last few years.
Rah- Bonus money will maybe cover the cancellation pay you will lose, that are your fighting long upgrade.
Envoy- hey we are losing airplanes and bases, but come work for a flow that will never happen.

The Industry as a whole is missing one strong link, UNITY. Nothing will improve until People stop back stabbing other groups and pretending like nothing happened. Ahem..psa

No it wasn't. It was EXACTLY the same seating capacity as an RJ 900. And to think the Regionals are soon to be flying EMB-190/195s with 100+ seats...

Disgusting. Those should be mainline airplanes with mainline pilots getting mainline pay/benefits. Period. Over and out.
