no,, unless you have enough pic you cant get your atp. A lot of guys who go the quick route only have 120 hours or so of pic. not the required 250 needed. so some have to go out and actually fly a cessna around just so they can upgrade. see, now isn't that silly, funny, scary?

Any airline that does international ops (ie canada & mexico) must use captains who meet ICAO ATP mins...this requires 1200 PIC, or right around there. More and more regionals are getting into this, and they are obviously changing their upgrade requirements.
I was laughing my *******ing @ss off at mesa when they instituted this requirement and all the MAPD folks who were about to upgrade were told they had to go back and and be an FO for another 1-3 years.

I'm a new hire at Comair and can assure you that minimums are still 600 and 100. I've heard of some getting interviews with less than 100 multi....so it doesn't hurt to apply.
For all you dooms dayers out there, comair isn't going anywhere. Sure we have some challenges ahead, but this is truly a good time to get on with this airline.

there you go, so if your a 250 mesa pilot development wonder at a 121 airline and you did not get your PIC the right way, you can still use your 121 time to get your ATP

Most of us had 250 before we started instructing. Even then we had time as pic before we started to take someone elses life as our responsability. Thats why i laugh because the 250 rule can be thrown out too,, they are doing everything they can to keep times low and people unexperienced.
