From the pilots I know, QOL is far better if you live in base at Colgan. Commuting might be ok, but you chew up so much time traveling. However, if you hate the environment you get based in (NE for example), then commuting might be worth it for you. I can tell you I love the NE but that's because I grew up here. It might not be so desirable in the winter for someone who lives in Florida.

Where the heck did you hear that? I know Colgan just got some SAAB 340's from Pinnacle, but a possible buy out? That seems unlikely.

thats some funny stuff. Colgan is family owned, it can't be bought; it has to be sold. Colgan is buying up all of PCL saabs, and any other they can get their hands on. THe colgans wouldn't sell just based onthe fact that at least one colgan works in every department of the company, and all of those people would be out of work. Nice try, this was covered on flightinfo 2 weeks ago. Regions, maybe. Colgan, no way.

Like you said this has been floating around a bit, but Pinnacle has a lot more money on hand now since selling their claim, and an itch to spend. It wont be long.

That's the dumbest, funniest thing I think I've ever read! Like already said, Colgan isn't for sale. And since it isn't public, its not subject to hostile takeover.

The rumors that people spread as fact here never cease to amaze me!

all the sudden now that pcl has some cash you think they should but up a small regional? THey should put some of that money into your paychecks and your training dept instead. The younger colgans are taking the reigns lately, and they are eager to grow, as been seen by the company doubling in size in 2 years. Colgan wouldn't do anything for pcl. Different fleet, carriers, outstation basing, everything. I'd guess and say that 50% of the pilots would quit if they had to leave the outstation basing. Not to mention they'd be selling everyone in the family out of a job. Nothing personal, but i think that rumor was started by some FO that was hoping for a quicker upgrade, lol. THe signs at Colgan are showing growth again in the near future, as they are buying up more planes, and have been recruiting like hell lately. Growth for colgan could mean 3 more routes, but for a company that size, it's still growth. Good luck with that rumor.
