I was hoping it would be Skywest. It may yet still be
Thats a shame, I was looking forward to more 900 flying. But I'm sure we'll get at least 50% of the delta rfp
I can't wait till the day when the mighty skypest gets bent over. If you don't think it will happen, just wait. Ask Mesa what happens when the growth stops and you're a sell out and stuck with a crappy contract, ask TSA what happens when you're all cocky for getting some additional flying (United) and have it taken away by BloJets, as it has to others besides them, it will happen to you. And if you don't think what you do effects others, watch how that crappy contract Mesaba ended up taking screws everyone else, including NWA (can you say whipsaw).
Seriously though, I hope you continue to feel all smug with what some skypest person referred to as a "contract." You don't have a contract, you have an agreement, or "manual", or whatever the hell you guys call it. Just wait till things aren't going skypests way and they start putting the squeeze on you guys, you're "contract" won't be worth wiping your butt with. You're already flying 90 seat airplanes for less than other companies fly 50 seat airplanes for, what are you going to do then to get your growth in the future, fly a 747 for a .23 cent increase? And never mind your little bonus for ontime, you're still sellouts.
Tool.

"Skypest?" How lame!
Our "Agreement" is not a contract, yes but hopefully it will be soon. SKW ALPA organizing committee already has enough cards to request a vote form the NMB, they just want a few more to ensure an overwhelming “YES" vote. You can rant all you want but the fact is we get paid well above industry average, upgrade time is low, and the company is extremely stable and has been for over 34 years.
Calm down a take a deep breath.

No that contract was SIGNED in bankruptcy. It was part of the deal to take ASA. If Skywest bought ASA. SKywest would get 40% of all DCI flying

Thats what makes it interesting. Skywest has already got part of the RFP, why would they wait to announce more if it is going to Skywest. No need to wait, already announced some, why would they hold back to announce more. Probably because Skywest isn't getting the rest of the RFP. Im not saying pinnacle will get it all, but what i am saying is that maybe skywest wont get anymore. I think Delta wants to dig deep with their partners. to prevent what happened with comair a while back. Skywest is just getting to much of their flying and we all know how delta doesn't like having one regional doing a majority of its flying.
Here is what the RFP was
30 or so 50 seater most operated by Mesa and Comair
40 70 seaters Operated by CHQ (170) and Comair. 20 new ones
and 50 76 seaters. ALL NEW
Its already been said that skywest got most of the 76 seater about 35 ish or total and CHQ got the rest. Same with the 700 flying.
As for the 50 seater most are going to be parked as delta wants to get rid of 50 seaters.
Its pretty much given that Skywest will get most of the rfp. The order of some more 900s is a clue to that.
I've heard all these silly rumour like PCL is going to do it out of slc and so is express jet. Heck I even heard GOjets is going to do some flying.
I wouldn't count on ANY of it being in SLC. If anything XJT and PCL will fight over the comair scraps out of CVG.

Sorry ALPA would DESTROY any future growth at skywest. The fact we DON"T have a union is a good thing for our future.
THey only got the 35% neeeded they are at like 40% now and they have been trying to get this done for 6 months with the cards. More people are coming from other 121 carriers that are ANTI-Alpa. It won't pass and it won't be close either. Even the organizing committee has started to realize that. Thats why all those clowns from airlines like xjt and pcl are calling. They can't even get 1/3 on their own. Also not everyone who has sent in a card in FOR alpa. THey just want to get a vote and VOTE IT DOWN. I know thats why I sent mine in as well as everyone else I know here

ALPA hasn't been the greatest thing in the world in the recent past. But hopefully its going to turn the corner with the new leadership. Either way, its a good thing to have in your corner when things don't go as planned. I'm not totally sure what happened to them, but I'm sure your comrads who went off the end of the runway up in CWA last year wished you guys had ALPA...Who is this tool? Clowns...you're funny...I can't wait to watch skypest fall, and hopefully it will be without ALPA representation at the time. While ALPA hasn't been fail safe, we can all watch the company do what they want to you guys with no protection at all.

(this kind of goes with this discussion, and answers another tools post about why everyone bashes skypest) And, you're industry average pay rates screw other pilots who get their raises based upon industry averages. Thats why you try and raise the bar, not meet it. You really think all these major groups are going to accept what they have now, and not try to raise the bar when all their agreements come up for negotiations?? Don't you think that Mesaba didn't throw your agreement in its pilots faces when they were negotiating their 70 seat rates?? It all goes around...

Just wait...just about all the RFP's are over...where are you going to be when all this growth stops and the squeeze is put on the regionals again? Hope you've got your precious upgrade over already.

Well...the last time I checked, your 5% override to fly a 90 seat airplane was well UNDER what most companies get paid to fly 70 seat airplanes (CHQ, ASA, Comair, AWAC, Horizon), even under what a few some get paid to fly 50 seat airplanes (XJT), and WAY under the pay scales of other places who have 90 seat rates. And upgrade is relatively low just about everywhere now, its turned into a pilots market at the regional level.

hahaha, after reading slaphappys recent post,, i have to agree
Skywest will be ALPA soon. luckily since slaphappy is a kid with SJS he is in the minority. He will learn that after a few years flying is a job, and it should be treated as such. I don't fly for the fun of it, and gee, if they pay me thats just EXTRA. I hope you liked that 23 cent raise there slaphappy, it might be the last one you get.
