Keep the SAABs.

If only referenced material or "facts" were posted - no opinions; this would be a dull place with few posts. You need constant CRISIS to entertain.

They say the same thing about Expressjet too.

Delta isn't going to add any 50 seaters. Only 30 of comairs are up for bid the rest is >70 seats.

Plus SLC is Skywest Territory and Jerry Atkin defend it.

It wouldn't be 50 seaters that we would be flying. Things are getting pretty serious around here with some delta flying. they were here a month ago to look at our facilities. that is something i know first hand. not rumor. so i see delta come to check us out, and a month later rumors of slc base. i dont know... just when there is smoke there is USUALLY fire. (not always ofcourse)

Negative, when we purchased ASA the contact had a Chapter 11 Clause. It is recognized in court as well as if Delta merges/takeover. The only time the contract can be voided is in Chapter 7 (liquidation).

If Delta renigs on any portion of the contract Delta will forfeit $145 Million and being in Chapter 11 that is something they “CAN NOT AFFORD.”

that would be a small price to pay, to get what they want. they did the same thing at northwest, buying an airline certificate just so they can get some leverage on their pilots. we all know compass was made and purchased just for that.

I never heard the rumor from SKW execs about NWA flying, just from you and other pilots. I for one was hoping that Mesaba would get the 900's and hope the original posting is correct.

SKW currently has enough on their plate and can’t handle another increase in flying, right now.

The likelihood of another carrier receiving a Delta RFP out of SLC is highly unlikely. It's more believable that it will be CVG.

Good luck to Mesaba and Comair! I hope everything works out.

How is NWA getting ACA/Indy Ops Cert the same as SKW purchase of ASA from DAL? One is to start a regional and the other is to get rid of one in order to create much need cash flow.

Seems like that's not a price DAL wants to pay, seeing they have already started awarding us RFP's.

Thats what makes it interesting. Skywest has already got part of the RFP, why would they wait to announce more if it is going to Skywest. No need to wait, already announced some, why would they hold back to announce more. Probably because Skywest isn't getting the rest of the RFP. Im not saying pinnacle will get it all, but what i am saying is that maybe skywest wont get anymore. I think Delta wants to dig deep with their partners. to prevent what happened with comair a while back. Skywest is just getting to much of their flying and we all know how delta doesn't like having one regional doing a majority of its flying.
