Slappy, wow man that's some cold stuff you're shelling out there. I'm not a supporter of how much Mesaba has given up, nor their apparent payscale. But this is the first bit of good news for Mesaba in quite some time now, and to say things like that is really not cool.

Why? People said the same thing about skywest when we won the midwest flying. There is an anti-skywest bias on this site and everyone wants to hurt skywest and see it fail out of jeliousy and ect. It mostly because we are non-union and making the highest 50 seat wages out there.

Funny, I haven't seen one leave the fleet yet and there isn't even a schedule for decreasing the fleet. I understand that the airplane is nearing the end of its run but SKW will have to replace it with something like the Q300. Since most of the Bro’s are paid for don’t look for anything to happen before 2011 or even closer to 2017.

The reason for the seat locks being lifted is because we now have a lot of reserves on the Bro and we still need Jet pilots. Because of SKW inability to fill positions they must move pilots form the Bro to the Jet.

The are more and more 700s being coming online every month. We are still one of the highest if not the highest paid 50 seat airline in the industry not to mention we are non union so thats an extra 2% we get on-top of our wages.

Slap,

Listen, because this is important. I am not a skywest hater. I think you'll find that most people (at least decent people) on here aren't. But I'll tell you why this is different than Skywest being awarded Midwest flying.

Skywest doesn't have a couple hundred pilots on current furlough. Skywest wasn't reduced to flying just Saab's for next to nothing. Skywest has never been in bankruptcy, and Skywest has a history of treating employees decently.

By your statement, it seemed like you would have liked to see Mesaba fail, so Skywest could grow more. Thus, all I said was your statement was cold, and these are the reasons why.

You understand how the override works, right? It's not a credit override so you will have to fly greater than history block otherwise you get 50 seat pay and now you're back to flying 70/90's for 50 rates. What a crock, it's a way for the company to pull the wool over our eyes.

Absolutely correct, Slappy has no problems watching others burn for his gain. Please don't think all pilots at SKW have his views.

No, I'm not saying that ALPA will save the day but SAPA's a joke. If the company actually wanted to get 70/90 pilots a raise then why the override? Why not just separate rates? Why the cloak and dagger move? I understand that ALPA is not a save all but SAPA’s a JOKE! A much larger JOKE than ALPA!
