Folks who commute out of DTW
#2
There's a place called "Airlines Parking" or some such thing. They have a fake control tower in the lot. They offer reasonable monthly rates and a crew discount on daily parking. it's like $4/day and they run shuttles all the time and drop you off right at your car.
I no longer commute out of DTW but that worked well for me. No hassles at all. Highly recommended.

The airport allows you to park in employee lot for 45 a month as long as you were a crewmber. You have to pay it tyearly , but unused months are refundable. Have to go to the parking office in the old terminal.
Honestly airlines parking might be a better deal though. Didn't know about that when I commuted.

If your company has a crew base at DTW you might be able to get parking in the employee lot, if not you already have the best answer above. Unless you can pull off "princess parking" (someone picking you up curbside)

I commuted out of DTW in the late 80s/early 90s. If you are commuting to ORD, check out LAN or FNT. I paid less out of FNT than out of DTW. If your airline won't pay for out-of-base parking for commuters (which frequently saves them money!), then these airports might be worth considering.

I commuted out of DTW for a few years circa 2006. The Westin at the airport gave a $60 crew rate back then. Very, very nice hotel and it's right in the middle of the main terminal. Worth looking into if you only need a few nights a month.
