United Express can't get from ORF-EWR-PIT
#21
I do wonder if this is more of an issue with flights out of ORF.
I was possibly needing to go to CRP from ORF on short notice. (two days out).
ONE flight. That's it. ORF isn't that small, but I've run into a lot of "can't get there from here" problems on Delta, United, AA, USAir, etc trying to fly to smaller cities from here.
Example: Booked CLT-ATL-ORF on Delta. Trip ended early. Have some NRMR passes from Southwest (green tickets). Try to use them.
Lots of CLT-BWI flights. And BWI-ORF flights.
Southwest couldn't book that city pair for some reason. I'd have to use the green pass on the CLT-BWI leg, then get off the flight, claim bags, and check back in for a BWI-ORF leg.
I've had that happen with United trying to get to Dubuque, IA from Norfolk and going one way from Rock Springs, WY to Norfolk.

this proves how stupid you are. If you knew anything about anything, you would realize how stupid this is and how it is actually the problem. If you are actually an airline pilot, and are advocating cheap ticket prices (our food stamp salaries are subsidizing ticket prices), you and your wife to be in this customer service $hitstorm. Kindly go ******* yourself
It has nothing to do with pricing. As I stated a few times I was just trying to burn up a bunch of frequent flyer miles that I have. I will just use them on Amazon from now on as they are more reliable. I fly United Mainline a lot for work and have never had an issue so that's a lesson learned on my part.
E2 it seems EWR-PIT is the long pole in the tent. Maybe it was maint issues, short on crews whatever but twice that is the flight that cancelled. And you are very right that some of us as you know don't have the greatest internet where we are at all times. I saw what happened last week, keep your head down buddy. I am glad to be out of there.

What are you 12? Anyone who would attack someone they don't even know on the internet simply because they don't have the same opinion is probably a great joy to be around. I am sure FEDEX or Delta have probably left numerous messages for your class date that you just haven't gotten yet. Here is a completely crazy idea, don't like your job? Quit! Don't continue to walk through life with that big heavy chip on your shoulder. Life is to short to be that unhappy. I didn't want to accept regional pay so guess what....I didn't take a job at a regional. I found flying work elsewhere that keeps my family comfortable and I don't feel the need to lash out at random strangers because they offended my delicate psychological state on a message board.

You should be b1tching about this in the majors forum. Yeah, it's operated by UAX. But that cancellation most likely came down from United MAINLINE, to one of the their outsourced vendors.
So the part of "Express" part of United is technically correct. The problem lies with UNITED and a decision that was made in Chicago.

So twice now in a three week period my wife and daughter were scheduled to make that trip and twice United Express (Republic) couldn't get it done. Both flights were cancelled days in advance and United's customer service SUCKS rebooking. This time they switched her to Delta so maybe she will actually get where she is going.

All I did was watch it all happen online and on the United App then re-checked in, picked a seat, and got the new boarding pass. The app also gave me other options including standing by for this mornings non-stop, which was oversold, while keeping my confirmed seat on the afternoon non-stop.
So far, it looks like my afternoon flight will be on time. Will see how it plays out, though, as my airplane is currently in ORD.
Overall, UAL's automation handled the situation very well.

I was suppose to fly BNA-ORD-DEN this morning on United. Due to the ORD weather last night my morning E145 flight BNA-ORD was cancelled. They cancelled the flight last night. Within about 15 minutes of the cancellation I had been rebooked on this afternoon's non-stop BNA-DEN E145 flight.
