Alas, the inventor of our food staple has passed...
New York Times dated 1/14/2007:
Momofuku Ando, who — to the delight of dormitory students and other kitchen-resistant customers worldwide — invented those small packets of preflavored dried noodles that require just a three-minute boil, died Friday at a hospital in Osaka, Japan. Mr. Ando, the founder of the Nissin Food Products Company, was 96.
May he rest in peace

My Resolution--
Whereas everybody who went to college in the past 20 years has survived finals week on ramen!
Whereas little packets of dry noodles with a flavor pouch can now be defined as Japanese food in some parts of the country.
Whereas Momofuku Ando brought soup to the lazy and verrrry cheap!
It therefore be resolved that January 14 shall be remembered as International Ramen Noodle Day. On this day we shall all go to the local mini-mart and buy a .49 cent packet of noodles and we shall enjoy it!
