Read back a few pages... This has been addressed repeatedly... Yes they are.

Kind of. They sent notices to a half dozen guys in my class from a couple yrs ago. That was it. No follow up. No phone calls. Nothing. Roughly 25% of that class quit before two yrs. If that ratio is true with the dozens of classes they run ever year, you really think they will try to get money out of hundreds of broke FOs?

If you sign a contract with them, and break the contact, yes they will enforce the contract.

Per my interview a few weeks ago, the training contract is on hold until March. The only contract they have you sign is for the Hiring bonus of 7.5 or 10k(2 installments), payable (prorated) if you leave before 2 years.
Or so I was told.........

Why does it matter, if your friend agreed to do something then he should stand by his word and carry out the agreement, either that or make a calculated career move and leave before the end of two years, but fulfill his financial obligation he freely entered into.

I was a lot more concerned with the "Signing Bonus" language in that specific contract I signed on with ... the promissory note, not so much.

Yes but in the interview you were told certain things that weren't true then you should breach the contract.

If an airline makes you sign a training contract you better dig deeper and see what your getting in too. Chances are you might not like what you find.

The same should be said of those airlines offering $30,000 bonuses, there is a reason that price tag is so high, its because you are committing career suicide as there is zero chance for an upgrade in this decade.

Ok, and I'll bite about not getting what you were told, if thats the case be prepared to return the money and make restitution.

Bottom line, don't go to Republic, that would be a dumb thing to do.

So it's ok for the company to lie, waste my time, cause family tension due to QOL issues and delay my career but I should "return the money and make restitution"!?!?

Ha. Get off your high horse.
