If some of you would go do some reading elsewhere except the regional forum I think you'd find plenty of mainline pilots well aware of the dangers to everyone of relaxing scope in this environment.
Now, never say never, but I think there's enough former regional guys who have moved on who experienced what the growing fleets of regional aircraft did to their careers to forestall any relaxation in scope. If the above mentioned thread is any indication Parker will likely receive a very cold shoulder to any changes in scope.

The proof that they knew EXACTLY what they were doing is how hard they fight to justify their actions to everyone else.

AAG is asking for 89 seats and for now no mention of weight limit where you get 5 sests. Besides there A321 jfk to lax and sfo have 102 seats. Looks like a home is being made for the c 300 and e195 at the aag low ballers. Get towels your pants are getting wet at psa and pdt.

God help us all if regionals get 89 seat aircraft. I remember reading about the introduction of B-scales in Hard Landing; pilots who are fat and happy can and will lose empathy for those below them and blissfully sell them out for that slightly improved paycheck. I sincerely hope enough legacy pilots do remember what it was like and stick to their guns on scope, but many might be looking to make up lost income from the last decade...

89 seat aircraft will be ordered in large numbers.
Scope change will be given for delta + 3% and PROFIT SHARING. As they APA have been told no profit sharing but that is negotiable as is scope. quid pro quo.
limited hiring at AA cover percentage of retirements and the stagnation at AA and screeching halt to regional flow through, now the 12/4 cap makes sense to all, which is what i have been saying.
The fun has just begun.

don't fool yourself, psa (and pdt for that matter) knew exactly what they were doing. They wanted bigger jets, and pdt wanted flow. They sold everyone else out to get theirs.
The proof that they knew exactly what they were doing is how hard they fight to justify their actions to everyone else.
