Dropping last leg of pairing
As a pilot with WestJet, we use Flica to view our schedule, drop entire pairing, part of the pairing or just drop the first or last leg of the pairing for commuting purposes.
I recently talked with a colleague who informed me that at Air Canada, they are not allowed to drop the first or last leg of their pairing. As well, I talked with a friend at JAZZ and they are allowed to do this. I guessed I assumed that this was the standard.
How does this work with regional airlines in the U.S.
Best regards,
Commuterguy

Not everyone is as friendly to their commuters as DP and your management team

Now that we're understaffed in most domiciles getting something like that approved is probably rare, but it's still possible to request it.

You have lost me with the DP reference?
At SkyWest, are there a lot of commuters and does this happen quite often that people are trying to pick up or drop the first or last leg? Are you able to see if there is another pilot listed STBY or is it that detailed.
Cheers

At TSA you can try to drop it, but they won't award it to you straight up if it creates a deadhead. (So usually commuters will drop their last turn). But you can put it up on the trade board on flica and if someone takes it, you're good to go.
How's stuff at westjet? They, uh... hiring at all?

There was a westjet crew there staying at a pimp hotel for like 25 hours. Not too shabby.....

TBucket, pagey and Crazy Canuck... thanks for your replies. Yes, WestJet is hiring and due to the expansion into wide bodies next year and just expansion in general, we are hiring. Yes, the Cancun layovers are nice. Barbadoes is better though! LOL.
DP is pretty easy going and a great CP.
TBucket... what does TSA stand for? I know at WestJet we put it up on Flica but if the person travelling non rev does not check, it doesn't work. Instead, I would be stuck with that leg and the person travelling non rev is kicking their butt as they have missed out on a free ride to work. At WJ, crew sched needs two hours notice to make this change and therefore making the change at the gate is not possible.
Are you guys able to see who is listed non rev or can you just see the non revs as "employee" or "parent" etc...
