Default More UAX E175 routes announced

Source: UAL SkyNet

We will launch service with our new Embraer 175 aircraft on flights between IAH and MSY (New Orleans) beginning June 15 and between IAH and AUS (Austin) beginning June 16. We also will launch ORD-MSP (Minneapolis) service starting June 5, ORD-ATL (Atlanta) service beginning June 15 and ORD-LGA (New York-LaGuardia) beginning June 23.

The 76-seat E175 regional jet is the newest addition to our United Express fleet. The plane offers more personal space for customers, with wider seats and aisles than other regional aircraft. Each United First seat features a power outlet. The aircraft’s large overhead bins can accommodate standard carry-on bags, resulting in more convenience for customers.

United Express carrier Mesa Airlines will operate the flights between IAH and ATL, AUS and MSY. United Express carrier SkyWest Airlines will operate the flights between ORD and ATL, LGA and MSP.

This whole thing is kind of silly. Republic/Shuttle already fly the 170 between most of these city pairs...the only real difference between the 170-100 and the 170-200 is a couple more seats. United is really trying to make this into some big ordeal.

What a surprise ... E-Jets replacing A320s and 737s instead of replacing 50 seaters.

That's so cool!

More RJ flying mainline routes for less money. Screw united actually hiring me, I want Mesa or Skywest to hire me.

Exactly... why would anyone expect anything else from United. They are a horrible company and their network planning is complete crap. I can take a A320 from DEN-OMA but if I want to go DEN-SEA/SAN I am going to be crammed into a -200. What a joke.

Of course, but I also find it absolutely ridiculous that they fly mainline routes with regional jets especially ones that other airlines seem to make work.

Maybe UAL pilots can take back some scope. That would solve this.
