Republic hired hundreds of pilots in 2013 but the net addition was only ~30 through November I hear.

Envoy has just under 2800 pilots on the seniority list.

Default APC updates profiles when they get to it.

This thread is a timely effort and a good idea. APC moderators unfortunately have day jobs I think. Updates to airline profiles sometimes take a while.

Along the thread's intent of a quick take of the regional manning status quo, Bedford/Darby discussed in Aug '13, 3000 excess regional pilots for the next few years. The stunningly obvious Bedford quotation at the end is pretty harsh if you happen to be a human being working as a regional pilot:

Apologize if this is posted elsewhere.

Its really simple. They shut down eagle when everybody votes no and yells burn it down. Then when all of the Eagle pilots start getting furloughed they panic because they have no job or any income anymore, so they go start over at the next bottom feeder regional thats getting the big order of 170's we turned down.

There is no shortage so long as regionals crash and burn on managements whim. There is an endless supply of fully qualified retreads. Ready to start over at less than they made before. Not everyone will start over of course, but enough to fill the new seats certainly will.

Where do you think the majority of Comair pilots went. A ton of them are at Gojets, and every other regional. Including a bunch of them at Eagle. People that were Captains.. Now Regional FO's again.

Feels good to tell management to stuff it, but the house always wins in the long run.. they get their golden parachute either way. They don't care. This is what we are up against. I hate this place.

They can not shut down eagle fast enough to create a "flood" of pilots on the market, though. They can drawn it down at about the same rate of attrition. By the time they get even close, the entire market will have changed and so will their grand strategy.

Comair didn't release "tons" of pilots on the streets, either. And not all went to regional. Amny ended up at LCCs and overseas.

Most of us are working pilots. I don't have access to updates, but once one is posted, it shouldn't take more than a week or two at the most to have it reflected on the site.

The info is only as good as what we get from you guys and gals, so update often! Thanks!

We can hope. But they won't.

Excellent post Purdue Flyer. Don't be dissuaded by naysayers on this thread. My guess is anyone on here who openly negotiates against the profession is not in fact a pilot. If you've been on APC for even a short time you know there are management types on here masquerading as pilots in an attempt to bring the profession down.

I won't rehash the facts supporting a tight supply of pilots because they are ubiquitous on this forum. Instead just consider this: 2013 had the lowest number of age 65 retirements forecast for the next 20 years and already there are signing bonuses, retention bonuses etc. There are 6,500 planned retirements from 2014 through 2018. There are enough pilots retiring EACH YEAR from 2019 to 2027 to completely wipe out American Eagle (Envoy). With two over age 60 Captains having heart attacks in flight in less than a year do you suppose age 65 will be raised?

Only a non-pilot would negotiate against the profession at this point.

S.B.
