I'm in the same boat. I e-mailed yesterday with a request for information; nothing yet. Do any experienced XJT folks know who our point of contact should be if we don't know what the heck is going on?

Insurance always starts on the first of a month. Depends on DOH. You will be enrolled on the 1st of the 3rd month after date of hire.....Example:

My Class date was 6/26. Had to wait ALL july, ALL august, then 9/1 it was effective....

The class that stated 7/2 had to wait till 10/1 cause it was the 1st of the 3rd month....therefore its up to 90 days but could be less if you start late in the month.

Hey, UI... thanks. I'm trying to figure out what interim policy to buy for my family to cover us for the gap, and that's exactly what I needed to know. I appreciate it.

Hey there. You probably will have gotten a call by the time you read this... Mike the intern just called me to set up travel arrangements and said he's making a bunch of calls tonight. I have his number, if you want or need it. See you Monday!

What kind of coverage do you get? Dental, vision, health?

Thanks for the tip, although I already get so much junk that it seems ridiculous to even try to fight it.

Benefits are medical, dental, vision, as well as travel (of course) and a retirement plan that I believe includes a straight contribution as well as a 100% match to (I think) 6% of your income in a 401(k). Again, they explained the basics of all of this, but I was utterly beyond caring, as it was right before the interview.
