President/CEO in the Jumpseat
I am just curious if the president/CEO of your airline rides in the jumpseat when they travel. Chip Childs (President Skywest Airlines) seems to always ride up front whenever he is traveling on Skywest even if the back is empty. I hear Jerry Atkin does as well. I recently had Chip up front on our flight and although you can hear the salesman in his voice, I appreciated him putting himself out there to answer our questions and talk about the operation.
Does this happen with Bedford/Anderson/Smisek/Ornstein etc...?

And yes, SkyWest execs like to sit up front. So far it's been easy for them because everyone's happy. It would take more guts to sit up there if pilots were ****ed, but maybe if they stay connected they can avoid that fate.

Yep and he was praised, as a second only to the likes of Mother Teresa and Ghandi, for his selflessness and desire to do well for a fellow human. GMAFB.

Hell, I'd love to have any one of my upper management folks come spend a month in my base and my plane. No less than 4 legs a day, upwards of 8, extendable to 10, oh yeah! We'd give them a first-class education on life in the middle of nowhere and the pains of commuting to outstations

It was a short flight for the RJ (SLC-SGU) ,and he did really well at keeping sterile cockpit, so 25 minutes isn't a lot of time to get much info. We talked industry, contracts, football, and a little about the future of Skywest. He didn't say much other than he was optimistic, but what else would you expect. It was a good experience overall.
