I think the reason AE does not allow you to choose where you want to go (domicile) is because they will never have the staff they need for the ATR's.
As for all this "movement" that everyone is talking about...I think it is a sales pitch from mgmt to get new FO's on the payroll and possibly slow attrition. There are a lot of flowbacks and furloughs at mainline and unless AA hires in the hundreds a month it will take a long time, no?

5 of 6 made it from my interview class; the one before was 4 of 5 I think, and the class after had 3 going to sim (not sure how many left). So there's 12 in one week - so if that is about average, times 3 weeks of interviews (none Thanksgiving week), there should be about 36 in our Dec. 11 class. I guess we'll find out.....

Careerpilot, can you walk a resume in for me? I have 1300TT and 120 multi, yet Eagle still won't talk too me.

You're not taking into account the ones like me who get hired and turn the offer down....

Bid results out today:

junior prop = DFW CA SF3 DOH 6/99
junior jet = BOS CS EMB DOH 4/98

Hired in 10/04, I'm about 1150 numbers from DCS (DFW CA SF3). There are about 250 flowbacks senior to me so realistically I'm 900 native Eagle pilots away from upgrade. All the flowbacks gone means 350 upgrades so at that point I'll be 550 from upgrade. Figure best case of 2 years for them to all be recalled and another 250 attrition in that period from the native Eagles senior to me - that puts me at 300 from upgrade on 12/08 with just over 4 years seniority. With no planned growth and a WAG assumption of 10 senior-to-me folks per month leaving from then on, it seems I'm looking at 6.5 years to upgrade to DCS.

I don't enjoy being negative (believe it or not) but any folks who are thinking the upgrade will soon come down to 3 years at Eagle are smokin' some serious funny stuff.

Have a nice day.

You are using assumptions based on todays numbers and growth plans. The airline industry is very dynamic and constantly changing. Airlines are starting to recover which will change our future. Talking to a member of management there are many growth opportunities in the near future. I hope for your and my sake your estimates are wrong but only time will tell. Our biggest obstical now is our staffing levels and until it can be fixed your estimates will be right. Eagle has already reduced block times in November and December, without the staffing the flying can not be done. Hire people and we will increase the block times back to there original hours and possibly higher. I guarantee upgrades will drop if we can find pilots. The upgrade time has already dropped slighty but you are to junior to have probably noticed it.

What kind of growth are you talking about? Eagle will always be American exclusive....are you talking about airplanes? Are you talking about routes?

Careerpilot, you post as though Eagle is desperate for pilots, yet I can't an interview with Eagle with 1300TT and 120 multi. Eagle will have no trouble finding pilots especially the low time guys coming from ATP.

Call me old fashion but without knowing you personally I would have a hard time reccommending you. I can tell you that I have emailed Claudette regarding several posts from people who say they are being told they are not competitive. These people claim to meet our mins and have a clean backround. Cluadette seemed very shocked by this and encouraged applicants to call and verify why they were denied. She didn't give me the phone number but I ask her for it and will post it when she gets back to me. She did state that if you currently have a class II medical that airlienapps.com will automatically send you the denial. So I would encourage you to call Eagle and get a class I medical if you don't have one. Claudette did state to me that it has been very challenging finding qualified applicants and she doesn't want any to slip through the cracks. Her email address is [email protected]. Shoot her email and let me know what happens.

I don't know the management pilot I flew with could not discuss it. Also our contract says that Eagle will continue to seek flying opportunites but I don't believe that it says we are exclusive to American. We currently fly some routes for Alaska and Delta on the west coast. Atleast we used to. Don't have my contract right now so I can't quote it.
