Airport in East Africa - Johannesburg - ATL - West Coast. Positive space makes it less stressful, but it's 27 hours of flight time each way not including layovers. Over 150,000 MQM, 300,000 Skymiles per year - just from commuting travel, not including travel to Europe for sims twice per year. It is a death march, but I DON'T work for a regional.

I have flight benefits through 2017, but why bother?

Commuting sucks whether it's a few hundred miles or half way across the world.

Crazy people, at that point I'd just quit and go work at a coffee shop while looking for a local flying job.
my wife applied for a job in ZRH and said "well, you can commute to ATL, right?" I told her "no, I'm switching careers if you take the job. I'm going to be a professional beer drinker." Luckily she didn't get the job.

I hauled a Captain that commuted from Bozemen, MT to Guam. It was a 24 hour commute when CAL had a much larger DEN presence. He figured it would go to 30 hours when he had to start going through IAH.

Longest national commute I've seen is a guy from SFO being based in EWR... Yuck.

I met an Air Wisconsin captain who lived in Fresno and commuted to PHL. That's probably even longer since it's always two legs.

I'm not sure what your definition of longest is. Time. Mileage. Or something else. I know i'm not in the running for longest distance.

But most frustrating maybe. I used to commute JFK-SDF-DEN-EGE . JFK-SDF-DEN on UPS. Then wait 4 hours to try for Mesa dash 8 from DEN-EGE. Half the time not getting on the first flight and waiting an additional few hours to maybe make the second flight. I live in base now! DFW.

And funny thing about his commute is he never misses it. Amazing guy and a great pilot.
