Sorry to get off topic a bit, but I didn't want to start a new thread with this question.
Do the payrates, currently listed for Mesaba, on this site, include the 5% paycut? Will the CRJ900 pay, if Mesaba is awarded these aircraft, be the same as the CRJ200 pay, or more? I realize they haven't been awarded anything (yet), thus probably do not have rates for aircraft they do not have, but am just curious as to what to expect.
IF Mesaba gets the CRJ900s, and the 15 CRJ200s from Pinnacle, do you foresee Mesaba doing a lot of hiring in the near future? Here is why I ask.
I currently work for Northwest Airlines (customer service). The station I work at is being outsourced to Mesaba in January. I have the option of working for Mesaba, and thus will be an internal applicant. I am working on my ratings now, at a local FBO, and plan to have them completed by this time next year, but hopefully sooner. If all goes as planned, I will be sending out the applications in the next couple of years (again, hopefully sooner).
BUT, I was recently offered a job with ExpressJet in the same position, customer service, and thus have the option of working for, and being an internal applicant with them. Based on what is going on with ExpressJet (69 aircraft), and the future of Mesaba (maybe new aircraft, growth, hiring, etc.), which would be the better option?
I was in Houston Thursday for an orientation, and talked to an ExpressJet 7 year captain who seemed VERY optimistic about their future. On the other hand, my current boss is doing almost everything to get me to stay, and work for Mesaba; he thinks I will be better off flying for Mesaba, and have better opportunity.
Thanks for any insight you guys can give me!

To answer the questions.... No the rates on this site do not reflect the pay cuts yet... I wouldn't expect them to since no pay cuts have been voted on (or put into effect) yet and XJ mgmt. hasn't forced any new terms on labor as of yet... The vote on the TA will finish on Nov. 27 and we will probably all know more then. As for the 900 payscale to public knowledge (or even the rumor mill for that matter) there isn't one.... (my guess, perhaps it would be reflective of the avro scale) As for the XJ TA I hope they vote NO! If it were me being asked to take a pay cut here at 9E I'd burn the house down!!! (in fact my torch is ready and waiting) As for XJ hiring my guess is it will be a while since they still have a lot of furloughs out there, many of them who still need the flight time and would probably come back... So I wouldn't rule out anything... (in your position, based on what you have just stated I'd even go to Mesa if I could)
In the mean time FAIR CONTRACTS OR STFD!!!!

FO pay at Mesaba is combined, it won't matter what type of prop or jet you fly here, you will earn the same as every other FO on the payroll. Take the current FO rates and subract 5%. Raises will be 2.5% in Dec of 07 and 08 and 1% in Dec 09. After that it depends on growth. There are some other "kickers" involved with growth as well.
In the TA there is a 900 pay scale. Our 60-69 seat jet rate has been expanded to be 60-76 seats. The Q400 will be paid at the 40-59 passenger jet rates.
I think you will find the recalls at about 30% or so. Mesbaba sent out over 70 recalls the last copuple of weeks to get 6 to bite. That is first round of course, but I know personally that many of the furloughs have moved on or out. If Mesaba gets new airplanes to replace the Avro's, there will be massive hiring probably by fall of 07. We have lost over 200 pilots already to the seniority list is getting ever shorter. Attrition is still very high with 5-15 leaving every month.
My personal opinion is that the ALPA TA will pass. The AFA probably and the AMFA probably not. So who knows where we will head if that is the case.
I think there is a future for Mesaba no matter what. You probably need to go with your gut on this one. In two years when you are ready to fly for either, they are both going to be much different places.

So, basically, first year pay will go from $24 to $22.80. That is still right there with, or better than most other regionals. It looks like by the time I would be applying, you all will have received the 5% back, and possibly more.
I know a crystal ball is needed, but, IYHO, if you were in my situation, and you had to bet on which airline would be doing the most hiring, upgrades, etc., 1.5-2 years from now, which would you place your bet on?

Well with that in mind the only choice left that I can think of is AWAC and I really doubt that..... but you seem to be claiming you know something so what is your source???? and for matter what do you really know????
