Word from HR is that they want to hire 800+ in 2013. If they do that upgrade times will be much shorter. However, they want to hire 800, but I highly doubt they will get 800 applicants to hire. It's going to be slim pickings for Republic.

I was hired at my airline in Jan 08 and I am over 5000 numbers away from upgrade. Sucks.

The real question is, if they want to hire 800 in 2013, what is it they have in the works that they haven't announced? If its due to attrition, that requires >65 pilots a month to leave. Isn't that like 1/3 of the pilot group?!?!

So it would appear that they are positioning themselves for something, otherwise there will be furloughs as quickly as they hire!!

Reading too much usa today lately?

Just people coming over from pinnacle would cover half of it. Like the Colgan guys that we are getting. No matter what people say lots of flihht schools are putting people in the market. There are enough pilots dont worry.

We hired 100 or so in nov and december. There are pilots out there
