You got it wrong,

It's 1000 pilots now since that's how much we are overstaffed by per RJ.

LOL that's a good one. If any of that happens I'll eat my shoes.

My bad. I try to only take what he says with a grain of a salt but if he says we are CURRENTLY overstaffed by 1000, well than there may be 230 "Eagle" jets in the desert in no time. I think I actually saw an ORD-IGM 9800 flight next week. Might be starting already.

Parking planes and some guys flowing to AA it does even out in the end. Word is they are in need of another 30Mil. in concessions from us again.

The kicker, this time they will promise to show us the sweet fleet plan.
The kicker is this time the senior folks will have to take a longevity as well as an hourly cut wether they stay here or flow to AA.

SO they are supposed to try to send 50% of classes, they are now asking 30 million from us in exchange for them guaranteeing 50% flow. SO that means that they can flow unrestricted ad us taking concessions has nothing to do with the flow. Actually if they withhold us then they are keeping higher cost at Eagle. So if they put this proposal forward they would be admitting that there is no need to meeter. I think this could create either a DFR against ALPA for not stepping up or a lawsuit against AMR. I don't think this rumor is valid because AMR would be putting themselves in a bad spot.

Come on RJ, you are smarter than that. AMR can't put a proposal forward that says we will honor the current resolution assigned by the court that AE, AA, APA and ALPA have agreed to in exchange for pay cuts. If you don't take the pay cuts then we will meter.

Compared to Pinnacle everyone is expensive. The tunes are being played at SKW, Expressjet and RAH. Mainlines are trying to gut the regionals while they shrink them. The only airlines that are seeing some growth are Mesa, RAH and TSA. No can fill the classes right now. The regional industry sucks big time, a big part of the problem is us pilots willing climb over each other so we can get that coveted upgrade.

I have heard of unrestricted flow...came from the mouth of Winkley himself. The same Winkley who four months ago bluntly said they would meter AA flow if hiring targets were not being met.

Of course rj pilot knows more than Winkley. So disregard.

Is this accurate, why would you guys still be hiring so aggressively?

Because if AMR can flow pilots at more than the minimal required they could save some coin by lowering our longevity. Also in a few months we will have the new rest rules. With all airlines except SWA to likely be hiring in the next 12 months we are likely to see an increase in attrition. And It is accurate, If you look at the seniority list we have on average 50 or so FO more per base than we do CA.
