I just heard from a buddy that Eagle may be in line to get some of the old AirTran 717s. Can anyone confirm this?

Not sure if serious. Check out Southwest's and Delta's APC profile.

Yes sir!!!

Seriously....

Delta is acquiring 88 717s

Delta to Add Boeing 717 Fleet in 2013, Replacing Small Jets - Jul 9, 2012

AirTran operates 88 717s

AirTran Fleet | Airfleets aviation

So I guess Eagle is out of luck!

That was yesterday's rumor. Today the word is they're negotiating for Russian TU-204's and a merger with Starbucks.

That's peanuts in the scheme of things.
Does ALPA take its 2% tax from the sign on bonus too?

I guess those guys need the money more than a new hire F.O. who is struggling financially.

I don't think so. You start paying dues when you start in 2nd year, once you're out of probation.

Actually the union will protect probie pilots. I have seen it happen a few times. Our DFW rep in particular is big on stepping up for probies.
