Seaborne has three Saab 340s and five Twin Otters. Would they be able to handle such a large increase in flying?

Out at my local airport today. A beautiful Saturday and the sun was shining, the wind sock was limp and the pattern was empty. I simply am giddy with joy at seeing the approaching tsunami in the distance and watching the airline executives lounging around the beach with little clue as to their future. Ignorance is indeed bliss.
Foreign pilots won't help as they have to hire Americans to fill their own cockpits as it is and run their airlines. Age 67 might buy another 2 years, but only result in a higher wave when it does hit. Giving the Colgan families the finger and ratcheting the required flight experience back down to gear and flap handle levels won't fill up those GA airport patterns either.
My beach chair is on high ground and my binocs are polished to watch the inevitable flailing and panic. I wonder if $800 Armani suits float ?

Looks like the Commander and his sweetie missed the point.....but don't they always ?
The point was the industry will have no alternative to realize they pushed too far in their goal of turning this profession into that of a bus driver. When it costs $50,000 to get your basic qualifications and $25,000 for an airline to train you, people will stop coming if it isn't lucarative enough for the hassle......or they'll leave. Although the knuckledragger and his little smoochie will never get that, hopefully management will......but not before they go through a lot of pain.
