I don't think you want that. Think of all those senior fo's who are going to proffer to displace from emj to crj. You'll end up super junior.

but that is where RAH is openeing a base for the E175 with ORD so they can cover both sections. MIA and NY will get the displaced CRJ's.

Please help me understand why anyone would choose NY over Miami or Dallas. That is unless you are based at NY.

I am in California and would move to where I get based. I never lived in east coast but cost of living, weather, etc seems better in Miami than NY, no?

want a job, you dont choose except to take a job or not. this is the equipment and base, want it take it, dont want it so long. but if you wait long enough they will give you 5000 dolars, pre sim training and your choice of base and equipment. but by the time they do that you will be 3-400 pilots junior to where you would have been senior to them. this industry is all about choice.

Some serious syntax going on here.

Doubt they'd want to go through long term for no pay increase. Also no DFW EMJ people would be displaced. Not really seeing your argument.

ERJ without question.

FO pay is the same on CRJ/ERJ, CA pay doesn't matter to a new hire, and that changed anyway to a new pay banding system. All new CRJ Captains will not be paid CRJ pay rates anymore thanks to stupid people. Many more options all around on the ERJ. They are in every Domicile except SJU (which is dying anyway). Many more options for improving your monthly schedule with trip trading, more options for OT etc..

The only decent reason I could even think of to pick the CRJ would be if you are planning to apply to Emirates, because of the weight requirements the ERJ is not acceptable..

It's all just personal preference of people.. Some people are from the Northeast or like NYC living.. lots of stuff always going on there.

I am a west coaster too, but have lived in ORD, MIA, NYC, DFW, and LAX.. they each have positives and negatives.. MIA and DFW are on the bottom of my list for certain reasons. DFW would be my absolute last choice, but that's just a personal preference thing.

Actually many would displace to the CRJ. As ORD shrinks some will go to DFW and you will see the most junior DFE possibly being displaced, then the senior guy jumps out and proffers to displace for them as long as their seniority can hold it. Everyone says that CRJs are going her and there but haven't you guys thought about AMR obtaining more CRJs and placing them in all bases? But we don't know as we don't have a fleet plan!
